Robotics Verticals in Corpus Christi

Port & Maritime Automation

The Port of Corpus Christi handles more crude oil exports than any US port. Demand for automated cargo inspection, autonomous surface vessels, and port logistics robots is growing. SVRC ships marine-rated platforms.

Oil & Gas Inspection Robotics

Valero, CITGO, and Cheniere require crawling robots, drones, and submersible ROVs for refinery and LNG facility inspection. SVRC rents inspection platforms with hazardous-environment documentation.

Marine & Underwater Robotics

TAMU-CC's Harte Institute and Gulf-facing industries need ROVs and autonomous underwater vehicles for environmental surveys and infrastructure inspection.

Wind Energy Inspection

South Texas coastal wind farms require blade inspection drones and tower-climbing robots. SVRC provides platforms for renewable energy maintenance teams.

Local Research Highlights

Research from Corpus Christi's institutions shaping the next generation of robotics.

TAMU-CC — Autonomous Coastal Survey

Research on autonomous surface vehicles for Gulf of Mexico water quality monitoring and oil spill detection; funded by NOAA and Texas General Land Office.

Harte Research Institute — Marine ROV Operations

Underwater robotics for coral reef monitoring, pipeline inspection, and deep-sea research in the Gulf of Mexico.

TAMU-CC Engineering — Corrosion Inspection Robotics

Research on robots that detect and map corrosion in coastal industrial infrastructure exposed to salt air and marine environments.
